With the global COVID-19 pandemic still in full swing, people across the world are being advised to constantly wash their hands to avoid contracting the virus. However, for some this suggestion proves more challenging than others.
South Africa and Kenya are two nations suffering from water scarcity. Having undergone unprecedented droughts in recent years and with a lack of development and infrastructure, many South Africans and Kenyans now struggle to follow these guidelines. Both nations serve as gateways to their relative geographic regions making containing the virus all the more critical.
‘Running Water’ takes viewers to South Africa and Kenya to see the struggles faced by their citizens while examining the efforts being made by their governments, NGOs and residents to remain safe where little water is to be found.
