A rare Sumatran tiger cub was born at London Zoo in December, just in time to celebrate the Year of the Tiger. 🐯
Sumatran tigers are considered a critically endangered species, with estimates that as few as 300 remain in the wild in Indonesia, their natural habitat. 🇮🇩
But global breeding programs and conservation efforts of the kind that helped gave birth to Loki, the London Zoo’s cub, are reversing what was a steady decline in the past few decades.
