China State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for deeper cooperation between Beijing and Europe during a video call with EU High Representative Josep Borrell on Monday.
In a readout of the meeting provided by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, (MOFA), Wang said that open cooperation, multilateralism, and dialogue were the most important ingredients to the continued development of China-EU relations.
"There is competition between China and Europe, but cooperation is far greater than competition. China and Europe have differences, but consensus far exceeds difference," the readout said.
