For a few days earlier this year, it looked like Europe was about to get a brand-new football competition.
But no sooner had 12 of the continent’s largest clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester City and Juventus, announced plans for the European Super League than it all collapsed in a bitter round of acrimony from fans, managers, players and administrators alike.
So, what is the true fallout from that fiasco? And what does it say about the state of football and its finances? Dan Jones, Head of the Sports Business Group at Deloitte joins Stephen to consider the future.

Dan Jones is the Head of the Sports Business Group at Deloitte.
In that role he advises high profile clients including clubs, leagues, governing bodies, governments, agencies, investors and commercial partners on issues including strategic, commercial, financial, regulatory, organizational and structural matters.
