UK business groups warn the government's $6.2 billion support package still won't be enough to stop many firms from going bust.
The country's finance minister, Rishi Sunak, announced plans on Tuesday to help businesses weather the UK's third national lockdown. The new measures mean retail, hospitality and leisure companies can claim one-off grants worth about $12,000.
"This will help businesses to get through the months ahead – and, crucially, it will help sustain jobs, so workers can be ready to return when they are able to reopen," Sunak said.
Richard Burge, CEO of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says it is not enough.
