WHAT’S THE ISSUE?
Despite all the hype hydrogen still only comprises 1% of the global energy market. Huge amounts of investment is going to be needed to make clean hydrogen a global fuel source. But if the world is going to meet its ambitious targets to lower emissions green and blue hydrogen must become an integral part of the global energy mix.
MEET THE EXPERT
Kate Dourian is a non-resident fellow at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington DC, and a fellow at the Energy Institute. Previously she was the Regional Manager for the Middle East and Gulf states at the World Energy Council and a Programme Officer for the Middle East and North Africa in the Global Energy Relations Division of the International Energy Agency.
