It was back in 2015 that David Cameron announced a Brexit referendum and nearly five years on the UK’s divorce from the EU is almost complete.
Brexit led Cameron to resign when the UK voted in favour of leaving the bloc, while it also spelt the end of his successor Theresa May after she failed to get her deal approved in parliament.
With Boris Johnson now in power, the UK looks set to agree a trade deal with the EU ahead of the December 31 deadline. CGTN looks back at all the key talking points since 2015.
