‘The wall’ between the United States and Mexico has become as divisive politically and socially as it is literally. A key platform during Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, ‘the wall’ has continued to make global news. But as construction continues to reinforce sections of the barrier, the number of migrants arriving at the U.S. border to seek a better life in the U.S. continues to climb.

Award-winning correspondent Dan Williams traveled extensively along the border, speaking to people whose lives have been affected by the wall. Although the topic has been widely explored by other media outlets, rarely has the coverage included such a diverse range of viewpoints. We aimed to introduce strong characters with contrasting stories and experiences.
